January 31, 2025   Dear Esteemed Brothers and Members of the California Hispanic & Latin Research Lodge. As we stand at the threshold of a new era of enlightenment and understanding, I am pleased to announce the launch of two educational programs designed to strengthen the foundations of our Order and promote unity and harmony among our members. The programs, entitled 1) Inspiring Prospects and 2) Inspiring Freemasons , have been conceived to illuminate the path of our brothers and prospects, guiding them through the rich history, symbolism, and traditions of our noble Order. This Masonic material, which we will be issuing in English and Spanish in the form of Masonic papers (letters), will be the product of our research, studies, and translations contributed by members of our Research Lodge. Just as the ancient architects built our temples with solid stones and deep foundations, we seek to build a strong and united Masonic community, where each brother is...

Giving a little Inspiration back to our First Responders        In light of the recent Palisades Fire, it was a profound privilege and humbling experience to have toured the devastated areas around Palisades.      Fire Paramedic Dan Apodoca from LA City Fire Department  ( Pacific Palisades Task Force 69) and Brother Armando Yanez (chaplain) also from the California Hispanic Latin American Research Lodge assist in coordinating this Inspirational event.      This experience was made even more meaningful by the selfless efforts of the brethren from Bro Armando's mother Lodge Metropolitan #352, who had the privilege of serving a delicious meal to the brave first responders who risked their lives to protect our community.       These First Responders are a true and will always remain as an inspiration to all of us.   Bro.   THE HISTORY OF CALIFORNIA  - in 13 Minutes THE HISTORY OF CALIFORNIA - in 13 Minutes      The first known European to reach the gorgeous coasts of California was Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo in 1542. Cabrillo’s expedition had been launched from modern-day Mexico, known then as the Viceroyalty of New Spain, and ended up in San Diego Bay. The expedition was rather fruitless, however, as Cabrillo failed to discover anything that he viewed as worth the trouble for Spain to colonize. He left, and California remained untouched by European hands. Occasional ships, such as those from the Spanish East Indies traders would at times touch down on California’s coasts, but the idea of colonizing the territory still remained unconsidered. Even when English explorer Francis Drake plundered his way into Oregon and California, claiming the lands for his homeland, no real settlement of any sort was actually set up. ******* California Hispanic and Latin American Research Lodge Pub...

Don Benito Juárez, illustrious freemason      Benito Juárez, as an illustrious Mason and tireless defender of justice, left us a legacy that transcends time and reminds us of the importance of fraternity, honor, and the struggle for the common good. His life teaches us that perseverance and constant study are powerful tools to illuminate our path in the pursuit of truth.     Just as he faced adversity with firmness and conviction, we, as Masons, must remain faithful to our principles, promoting equality, tolerance, and the progress of humanity. Freemasonry, like Juárez, calls us to be beacons of light in times of darkness, guiding by our example those who seek wisdom and justice.      Following Juárez's teachings, our mission is to build a world where reason and virtue are the pillars of society. In every temple and in every action, we must remember his famous maxim: "Among individuals, as among nations, respect for the r...

The Begining: The basics       The Masonic square and compass: is a symbol with rich meaning within Freemasonry, representing morality, self-control, and the balance between the material and spiritual aspects of life. While the symbol itself isn't used in a literal, everyday sense, its principles can be applied to daily life in the following ways:   1. The Square: Symbol of Morality and Integrity   "Squaring our actions": Just as a square ensures accuracy and right angles in construction, it reminds us to be honest, fair, and upright in our dealings with others. This means acting with integrity, keeping our promises, and treating everyone with respect, regardless of their background or status.   "Getting a square deal": This phrase originates from the square's association with fairness. In daily life, it encourages us to be fair in our transactions, to seek justice, and to avoid taking advantage of others. 2. The Compasses: Symbo...
